Not every extension method fits every head of hair. At Harlow in North Austin we install tape-in, beaded, keratin bond, I-tip and NBR extensions. Here is how they differ, and how we help you choose.
How each method is applied
Tape-in
A fast, comfortable application. See our tape-in extensions page.
Beaded
Heat-free. Beads hold the extension in place without glue or fusing. Our hair extensions page has more on beaded and hand-tied options.
Keratin bond
Fused strand by strand.
I-tip
Individually fused.
NBR
Gentle and adjustable.
Which suits fine hair, thick hair, color-treated hair
The right method depends on your hair type, how much density you want, how long you want to wear them, and how you style your hair day to day. If you have fine hair, thick hair, or hair that has been colored a lot, say so. It changes what we recommend. That is why we pick the method after we see your hair, not before.
Matching and blending the color
Extensions only look real when they blend with your color. As a hair color salon, we plan the match and the blend together, so the extensions and your natural hair read as one. Learn more about our color services.
Care and maintenance
Care depends on the method you choose. We go over how to wash, brush and sleep on your extensions at your appointment, so you leave knowing what to do.
